Our family of woods in the Heritage Series is growing with the Norwegian Pine used in the new GH3. The GH3 is the first entry-level pair to be released in the Heritage Series, using thinner cuts of wood but still housing Grado signature drivers.
These limited editions are the first Grado headphones to utilize the warm and textured tonal abilities of Norwegian Pine. We sourced a specific species of this wood for the housings, searching for the right patterns and musical character desired for the GH3. A combination of a quarter sawn cut and a special curing process, without which building these pairs wouldn’t have been possible, help bring these pairs to to life.
To build an entry-level Heritage Series headphone for the first time, we went back and drew inspiration from our original Prestige Series nearly thirty years ago. The GH3 uses a low profile enclosure to create exceptional value in performance and size.”
