JBL JR300BT Kid’s Wireless On Ear Headphones Review

There aren’t too many wireless headphones out there for kids. But precocious little ones understand technology and deserve to enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth. Still, how do you ensure that they don’t blow out their ears while listening to Twinkle Twinkle? Let’s explore JBL’s latest kid creation in this JBL JR300BT Kid’s Wireless On Ear Headphones Review.

FIT and DESIGN – JBL JR300BT Kid’s Wireless On Ear Headphones Review

The JR300 is super cute. It comes in red, blue, light blue and teal. Each JR300BT is tri-colored, and it includes a bunch of stickers for your kid to personalize with.

The ear pads are softer than my love handles and feel extremely comfortable and gentle on my ears. For a tiny head, they’re  perfect. The headband also comes with some cushioning, which is great for the hairless 3 year-olds out there. They’re extremely light, and they fold into an adorable little handful. A little carrying case would have been nice, considering how much kids move around.

The controls are extremely easy, and if your little angel knows how to press a button, he or she will have no problem operating the JR300. There are two buttons. One is for pairing with Bluetooth. The other button plays and pauses with one touch. If you press it for a little longer, the headphones switch on and off. That’s about it. These JBL’s have a 12 hour battery life and can produce 1 hour of playing time after 10 minutes of charging. The wireless range is about 15 meters without obstructions. And when the signal drops out, your kid will know he’s lost his parents.

SOUND – JBL JR300BT Kid’s Wireless On Ear Headphones Review

The most important feature in this department is that JBL has limited the volume to 85dB. That’s not to say that the sound isn’t decent. Little budding audiophiles will get reasonably good sound. It’s hard to judge the sound quality of headphones that have this kind of volume limit, but I will say that if you’re raising a tiny bass-head, you won’t be disappointed. In true JBL fashion, the JR300BT have a thumpin’ baby bass. It sounds especially good when listening to pop and hip-hop.

SUMMARY – JBL JR300BT Kid’s Wireless On Ear Headphones Review

For the decent price of fifty bucks (Though maybe $40 would have been more reasonable), I think these baby cans are great. They’re aesthetically fun, easily portable, safe and sound nice too.
