LCD-XC Wow
Although these are intended for studio production and for front of house use for mixing live performance, I bought these for home hifi listening they have exceeded all expectations. For starters, despite being pretty large in size, they are very comfortable and I have not grown tired of wearing them during listening sections. Surprise number two is that the cans lock into place, which eliminates the annoyance of them sliding around during use; a simple but game-chaning innovation. Lastly, I am using these to primarily listen to live Grateful Dead recordings (GDM reissues and DAT SBDs on my Tascam DA-20 MKII). Listening to these recordings is like hearing the music for the first time - the transparency and detail is unparalleled.
