Not only the closed type, but also the headphones called the open type, many of them seal the inside of the ear pads to extend the characteristic playback frequency to the low range that the driver unit cannot normally reproduce. However, in order to express the high-quality low range with the original natural spread of the sound source, the driver unit itself has the ability to reproduce to the low range, and on top of that, it is necessary to use low sealing and breathable earpads. However, many of the conventional planar magnetic field types and general dynamic types lack low frequencies with earpads with low tightness.

In the D8000 DC series, AFDS was able to extend the playback band of the low range, so the ability of the driver unit alone allows sufficient low-range playback even with low-sealed earpads. The ear pads, which greatly affect this sound quality, are self-developed products using a special fabric and foam with excellent breathability using Japanese paper that combines dry feel and durability as a surface material. In addition, the DC series has increased the volume of the acoustic space by making this earpad 1.5 times thicker than before. As a result, the sound field is expanded, leading to the smoothness of the human voice band. In addition, the headband part also adopts the same material, which is resistant to moisture and achieves high durability.
