• Studio-Grade DSD2048 Remastering: The iDSD PHANTOM brings DSD Remastering, previously only available to the world’s best mastering studios, to the hands of the consumer via a custom-coded FPGA, to transform any file and ultimately make music sound closer to a professionally remastered recording. DSD2048 represents a new pinnacle for our development of this technology.
• Real-Time Tube/Solid-State Switching: Choose between two fully balanced Class A circuit modes – discrete solid-state or tube – in real time. Both use the highest-grade components, with the tube mode powered by hand-selected, matched NOS GE5670 valves. Love the rich, analogue warmth of tubes? Activate Tube+ mode to boost 2nd-order harmonics by 6dB for an even more fluid, musical sound.
• JVCKENWOODS K2 and KHD + Technology: K2HD restores rich, natural harmonics to lifeless digital recordings. Its advanced high-frequency extension revives overtones beyond 22kHz, delivering audio quality close to the original master. We have worked extensively with JVCKENWOOD to bring their renowned K2HD Technology to our most desirable products, and are proud to finally include this technology in our latest flagship DAC.
• 4,676mW RMS Headphone Output+: The iDSD PHANTOM’s amplification stage is not only highly advanced, but also extraordinarily powerful. With up to 4,676mW RMS power, and a peak output of 7,747mW, the iDSD PHANTOM can effortlessly drive even the most demanding headphones in your collection.

The World Premiere of DSD2048

For the first time, our Crysopeia FPGA engine brings DSD2048 Remastering to the comfort of your home, drawing on technology used in Japan’s mastering studios. Four Burr-Brown DSD1793s operate in a custom interleaved configuration for native decoding of signals up to DSD2048, unlocking exceptional low-level detail for playback that rivals a professionally remastered recording.

Move between Solid-State mode, where discrete J-FETs deliver lightning-fast precision; Tube mode, where hand-matched NOS GE5670s provide liquid smoothness; and Tube+, which pushes the tube character for golden-era warmth. XBass Pro is our analogue shelving EQ, available in 10, 20, and 40Hz options. It lifts low frequencies without clouding the midrange. XSpace Pro goes far beyond crossfeed, pushing the music outside your head without sacrificing soundstage – just like speaker playback. Use the 30-, 60-, and 90-degree settings to find the most natural presentation for your setup.

Then use the array of digital filters to perfect the time-domain response.

Mastered from the Ground Up

A re-designed, constant impedance negative feedback system ensures XBass Pro, XSpace Pro, and DSD Remastering operate in perfect harmony. A dedicated common-mode servo smooths XBass’ on/off transitions and maintains LF consistency at high levels. We also fine-tuned the tubes’ supply voltage to enhance overall linearity in the audio output.
