In our lineup of Strauss & Wagner eartips, we next look at the SilPhase variation. These silicone eartips are orange at the nozzle like the Luxfit, but instead offer a soft, silicone material to make listening comfortable and lasting. These eartips come with double the amount as a regular pack, which makes them an incredible value at $17.99. Is this the eartip you've been looking for? Our review will analyze how the comfort and sound quality of the SilPhase can improve your listening sessions.

LOOK & FEEL
Starting with the look, the SilPhase eartips have one distinct look to make them easily noticeable. The orange grip on the inner nozzle is perfect for standing out on a desk or on an IEM, so you are sure to keep track of it. The silicone is very soft to the touch and comfortable to wear in the ear. It is a clear material, but it is also a little opaque to make the aesthetic more subtle. The small carrying case allows you to easily carry these around and make sure you have a secure place for every pair.
I was a big fan of the SilPhase eartips for their comfort and compatibility. They were soft and gentle on the skin, allowing you to wear them without discomfort for hours. The firmer structure ensures a stable fit both on the IEM and in your ear. I found the SilPhase is great for testing multiple IEMs with, as its more rigid structure lends itself to be great for pulling on and off as you need to try different models.
The SilPhase shows another difference from other eartips in the Strauss & Wagner line because of the amount that comes in one pack. The SilPhase comes with three different sizes, but instead of just one pair of each size, you get two. You can test out each size to see which one is the most comfortable for you. Like the SoundNest, Luxfit, and other variations, Strauss & Wagner give you the exact measurements of the internal and external diameters of each eartip size. All the internal nozzles are 4.5mm in diameter, and the other dimensions are as follows:
- Small: 10.7mm (D) 9.5mm (H)
- Medium: 12.3mm (D) 9.5mm (H)
- Large: 13.8mm (D) 9.5mm (H)
COMPATIBLE WITH...
The SilPhase eartips are compatible with a lot of different models of IEMs. From Strauss & Wagner to 64 Audio to Noble Audio, you'll find that the SilPhase eartips are a great match for any wired or true wireless pair. The rigid structure may make it difficult to put the eartips on at first, but the SilPhase is still malleable enough to fit on the nozzles and have a secure fit. Once the eartips are on, you won't have to worry about them sliding off.
You'll find the SilPhase is compatible with any of the IEMs listed below. If you don't see your IEM listed, feel free to come to Audio46 and test it out yourself, or give us a call to ask any other followup questions.

SOUND QUALITY
So, how does the SilPhase change the sound of your IEMs? Are you going to hear a completely different sound coming from your IEMs with this slight change? Thankfully, the answer is no: the SilPhase won't change the sound of your earphones that drastically. If anything, it will keep your IEMs sounding exactly as you expect. These eartips will likely remind you of any stock eartip that you find with your IEMs, but with a little more rigidity. That means the sound is expected to be similar, if not the same, as when you take them right out of the box. The SilPhase created sound that was natural and honest, just as the IEM was meant to be heard.
I used a few different IEMs during my testing of the SilPhase, including but not limited to the Final Audio S5000, the Campfire Axion, and the new Meze Astru. All of these IEMs had different signatures, and the SilPhase was a great pairing to all of them. It kept the bass smooth and impactful in the Astru, and they didn't cut off any treble detail heard in the Final Audio S5000. I could appreciate the large soundstage in the Campfire Axion, which is a great upgrade for gamers looking for a comfortable eartip for long gameplay.
SILPHASE VS OTHER EARTIPS
Does the SilPhase outperform other third-party eartips? What makes it different from the rest? The Silphase is a fairly standard eartip, so there isn't much on a physical side that makes it better than anything from Azla or Spinfit. The Azla Max is a fair comparison for its soft and smooth silicone material. The Azla Max comes with a small mesh screen, while the Silphase is just an open bore to put into the IEM. Performance-wise, it is definitely on par with any other high-quality eartip. The sound is smooth, clear, and consistent across the board.
When we look at the SilPhase in comparison to other Strauss & Wagner eartips, the SilPhase proves to be the standard of soft silicone amongst the bunch. Variations like the SoundNest are nice and have good structure, but are more for the breathability and have a unique build to make them good for wider nozzles. Eartips like the ComforTone or the SeraSil are good as well, though they are made of stickier silicone to really enhance a solid fit that won't move.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The Strauss & Wagner SilPhase eartips are another stellar option for people looking for a new eartip for their IEMs. It definitely sets a good standard of what a good silicone eartip should be. The sound is unaffected and clear, making your IEMs sound exactly how you expect. You are sure to get clarity, detail, and colorful sound out of your IEMs with these eartips on, and you won't have to worry about an uncomfortable fit.
