Returns and Exchanges Policy

NOTICE: Please check your spam and promotions folders for replies from us. Additionally, we've noticed that responses sent to Outlook emails aren't being received, so please try to reach out from non-Outlook emails if possible.

General 30-day Return/Exchange Policy

Extended Return period for Holidays, orders placed November 20 and after can be returned till January 10 (Please note products that are marked Final Sale, Special orders, or Open boxes are not included in our Extended return period.)

Audio46 carries a 30-day return / exchange policy (except for Astell & Kern which has a 14-day policy) starting from the day you receive your product:

  • Applies to all merchandise. (except Non Returnable products check below)
  • Must be returned in like-new factory condition.
  • Must include all original packaging and accessories.
  • Physical damage is not covered under the warranty including liquid spills and cracks.

Please note that returns on orders with any variation of free overnight shipping will have the cost of the shipping label deducted from their refund.

By ordering from us, you agree to the following terms: if you claim a product is defective, we reserve the right to test it with our audio engineers. If we cannot find or replicate the defect, we will treat the return like a standard return, which may include fees.

Your ability to return is voided if:

  • You blow out the headphone/IEM, or physical damage, or cosmetic damage to your purchase.
  • You fill out the warranty card (do NOT register for warranty if you do not intend to keep the item)

The following are FINAL SALE and NOT available for refund:

  • Open Boxes, B-Stock, and Refurbished items (read more)
  • Clearance items.
  • Special order.
  • Tube Amplifiers
  • Purchases made with discounted gift cards, which are FINAL SALE and are NOT eligible for price matching

    We will work with you to make sure you have the quickest and easiest refund/exchange. Please note we cannot issue refunds for payments made with Gift Cards -- you will receive store credit instead.

    If we issue a refund, it can take up to 3 to 10 business days for it to be credited back to you by your bank.

    We reserve the right to cancel any order for pricing error.

    Please note, if we discover an item has been tampered with, we will NOT issue a refund or accept a return.

    Audio46 won't be responsible for damage, defect, material difference, or loss that occurs to goods after they're delivered to a freight forwarder. This means that Audio46 isn't able to provide a replacement or a refund for any shipment taken outside of the U.S. by hand-carrying or using a freight forwarding service.


    Return in Person

    You will need to bring your ID to confirm your identity.

    Return by Mail

    All mail returns must be authorized first. In-store purchases can be returned via the postal service, however the consumer must pay ALL freight costs. The same applies for exchanges. Returns without written confirmation from us can incur up to a 20% restocking fee.

    Use our Return/Exchange form to receive your RMA. We're unable to supply RMA by live chat or phone call. Returns missing RMA numbers may be delayed or refused.

    The RMA must be postmarked and shipped out to us within 7 days or it will expire. If you have not been approved for an extension and it is shipped later than 7 days, we have the right to refuse it or charge 25% restocking fee.

    PLEASE NOTE: When you mail back an item worth more than $100, you must insure it with the courier for the full value of the item or else, if the package gets lost, the most you'll be able to get back is $100 from the courier. Audio46 is unable to refund lost package returns.

    Exchanges

    Exchanges can begin once we receive the returned item. We will work with you on the most efficient way to use the refunded amount to cover the new item.

    Use our Return/Exchange form to receive your RMA. We're unable to supply RMA by live chat or phone call. Returns missing RMA numbers may be delayed or refused.


    Rescission Of Sale

    Shipped orders cannot be cancelled.

    Non-shipped orders that are NOT special orders: can be canceled and refunded at no extra charge. We reserve the right to cancel any order if it has not shipped yet due to inventory, quality control, typographical errors, or payment processing issues.

    Special orders: cancellation incurs a 15% restocking fee

    Return shipping (General) Customer is responsible for the cost of return labels unless item is defective or a mistake was made. DEFECTS MUST BE REPORTED WITHIN 7 DAYS TO QUALIFY FOR RETURN LABEL. International orders are NOT eligible for prepaid return shipping even if item is defective.
    Return for PayPal purchases All PayPal returns have a 3% restocking fee due to PayPal's new policy of not refunding retailers the 3% PayPal transaction fee
    Return/Cancellation for Shop Pay Installments All Shop Pay returns and cancellations have a 5% restocking fee
    Return without our confirmation up to 20% restocking fee
    Returns with damaged packaging and/or accessories up to 30% restocking fee
    Returns missing packaging or accessories up to 50% restocking fee
    Return of a bundle that's missing items from the set or has damage full retail value of the missing/damaged items from the bundle
    Return of a purchase with free item that's missing free item or has damage on free item full retail value of the missing/damaged gift items

    Return Policy Abuse

    Our return policy is designed for customers who need it in good faith, which is the majority of you! Our regular customers should have nothing to fear.

    Audio46 monitors the ratio of purchases versus returns, both in terms of quantity and of total value, whether through a single account or across multiple account. We alert customers if we feel they are in danger of excessive returns.* If the customer continues to return after the warning, we will begin charging at least 10% in restocking fees (depending on the condition of the returned item/s). If we feel the return ratio exceeds a certain threshold, we reserve the right to refuse customers from purchasing from us again.

    Non Returnable products

    Sales are FINAL on the following items:

    • Special orders (which incur a 20% cancellation fee)
    • Opened/used eartips and earpads that are sold separately from earphones/headphones
    • Headphone cables, audio cables, and adapters (unless it's a defect reported within 7 days)
    • Open Box
    • B-stock
    • Refurbished products
    • Custom in-ear
    • Limited Edition, Special edition
    • Items meant for underwater use
    • Clearance sale items marked 15% off or more
    • Purchases made with discounted gift cards are FINAL SALE and are NOT eligible for price matching
    • Physical damaged headphones/earphones are Final sale non refundable.

    Return labels will ONLY be supplied when a customer has received a defective product or a mistake was made by Audio46.

    Please note your ability to return is voided if:

    Open Box Policy

    Here at Audio46, we're always interested in giving you the best deal possible. To this end, we're proud to offer Open Box specials.

    Open Box units can be:

    • customer return
    • a review unit
    • Store demo that has less than 5 hours of use

    Each one of our Open Boxes is inspected by our staff to ensure it is fully functional. We do not list products that have any compromise on their ability to function on par with a brand new item.

    We also clean our Open Boxes and note any cosmetic imperfections, which would be listed in the title.

    ALL Open Box merchandise will be in like-new condition UNLESS stated otherwise in the product listing. Any merchandise showing signs of wear or cosmetic imperfections will be listed as such.

    All Open Boxes are guaranteed to work as NEW or will be replaced if reported within 7 days of receiving it. (International orders are NOT eligible for prepaid return shipping on defective items.)

    We pride ourselves on providing high quality open boxes. Therefore, sales on Open Box items are final and cannot be returned as we aim to minimize the amount of wear that any of our open products go through. 

    Additionally, because we are an authorized dealer of every brand we carry, every Open Box item sold by Audio46 comes with the original manufacturer's warranty. The only exceptions are the following:

    • The following brands do NOT offer warranty on open boxes: Astell & Kern, iFi, and SIVGA
    • ABYSS open boxes do not qualify for extended manufacturer 3 year warranty (you'd still get their 1 year standard warranty)

    B-Stock Policy

    As an authorized dealer of every company we sell, we offer B-Stock units at deep discounts.

    B-Stock can be any of the following: open box, return, or refurbished. They come with the same full warranty as a new item. All B-Stock are factory inspected and packaged by their respective manufacturer, which generally means they come factory sealed, so Audio46 has no way of guaranteeing mint condition.

    Sales on B-Stock items are final and cannot be returned as we aim to minimize the amount of wear that any of our used products go through. All B-Stock are guaranteed to work as NEW or will be replaced if reported within 7 days of receiving it. (International orders are NOT eligible for prepaid return shipping on defective items.)

    Product Compatibility and Defective Products

    Audio46 will not be held liable for incompatibility of DACs and amps with Android, iOS, or Windows operating systems. Here at Audio46, we simply cannot test every DAC and every amp with every operating system. It is the customer’s responsibility to contact the manufacturer regarding compatibility with their devices.

    You MUST report a defective product within 7 business days of receiving the item. If we determine the unit failed under warranty within 7 days of purchase, we will cover shipping costs within the U.S. to replace the unit for you.

    If you believe that you have received a defective product, use our Return/Exchange form to receive your RMA. We're unable to supply RMA by live chat or phone call. Returns missing RMA numbers may be delayed or refused.

    SPECIAL ORDERS

    Please note your card will be charged when you place your order.

    Any item that we specifically order for a customer cannot be refunded or canceled (except STAX, which incur a 10% restocking fee). Special Orders ship directly from the Manufacturer or from Audio46 to the consumer. If a Special Order item is defective, you may contact Audio46 for assistance in how to get a replacement for the item. However, the burden of replacing the item and the warranty claim will be the responsibility of the consumer. ANY ITEM LISTED AS SPECIAL ORDER WILL BE SUBJECT TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS WITHOUT EXCEPTION. 


    International Returns

    Products shipped internationally are still eligible for returns. Please note that any customs fees and taxes that were associated with your package may be non-refundable in the event of a return. International duties are only refundable at the discretion of the country receiving the package. Audio46 has no control of these costs and therefore has no ability to refund them.

    Please note International orders are not eligible for Prepaid return shipping, even if item is defective. Buyer must ship at there own expense.

    Refusal to Pay Customs

    In the event that a customer wishes to not pay the customs fees associated with their package, it will be returned to Audio46 by their country. Any shipping costs will be on the burden of the customer. If the customer received free shipping, the shipping cost for both trips will be deducted from their refunded amount.

    Please note: Some countries will require that customs be paid for even if the package never leaves customs. Refusal to pay customs fees in these countries, will result in the fees and any shipping costs to be deducted from your refunded amount. In the event that your fees exceed the purchase price, Audio46 reserves the right to bill you for the difference.

    If customer refuse delivery shipping fee and custom fee's will be deducted from the amount customer paid for his order, even if product is returned back. Please Make sure you want the product before you place an order.
