Audio46's Opinion

We wanted to share our thoughts on both, the SR225x and SR325x here, because they share a similar sound signature and don’t differ vastly in price. So, you should keep both models in mind. Overall, both headphones deliver that captivating and ever-dependable Grado sound, with the SR225x offering slightly warmer and tighter performance, whereas the SR325x provides a more relaxed, sparkly and expansive sound. Grado's open-back headphones consistently present wide soundstages, and while both have comparable width, the SR325x excels in size and separation, while the SR225x delivers a tad more control. The low-end of both headphones provides deep and impactful bass, creating a gratifying and cinematic feel. The SR325x has a bit more pronounced sub-range, resulting in a fuller and wider bass response compared to the SR225x. In the midrange, both headphones demonstrate a pleasing warmth, but the high-mids are a tad more pronounced on the SR225x. The high-end differs as well, with the SR325x displaying a brighter and airier character, while the SR225x is a touch more subdued in the treble. But at the end of the day, both are best-sellers among the Grado line-up. Hard to lose.

Precision Priority.

The Sound of Metal
With its metal housing, the SR325x brings a surgical precision to your music that you won’t find in the rest of the Prestige Series. Better imaging of the space between the instruments paints a clearer picture of your music in their soundstage.

What We’re Known For.

Signature Sound
Some of the marvels of a Grado driver are the clarity and range, revealing new notes and details in songs heard hundreds of times. With superlative tonal balance, dynamics, imaging, and realism, the SR325x lays out an extremely detailed presentation.

A New Harmony.

X Series Driver
4th Generation Grado drivers are here. Specifically tuned for the SR325x, this new speaker design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with decreased effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm. Reengineering these components for our 44mm drivers improve efficiency, reduces distortion, and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music.

A Little Extra.

New Cables & Headband
Along with the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the SR325x. Housed in a more durable exterior, the now super annealed copper 8-conductor cable reveals even more of your music with improved purity. The new leather headband features white stitching exclusive to the SR325x in the Prestige Series.

With Love.

Each SR325x is hand-assembled by our team in Brooklyn. This headphone goes from workbench to workbench until it’s ready for your ears. We started building on a kitchen table in 1953, and every experience since then has led to the creation of the SR325x.

Warm Pleasant tuning, Airy, Lovely Headphone, Would Recommend.

I'll keep it short and simple. I really love them. Nothing offensive. They're warm, wide, airy with decent clearity. They suites my preference very well. IMO They require a pad swap, I'm currently using the BIG Geekria Comfort Foam. I seem to enjoy them more than my R70x. Con: I'm not a fan of the Attached Cable -fwiw
