The Long Road to High Quality

VOID began development in 2019 and was launched in 2022. It took nearly three years of research, development and testing before the first full-size MOONDROP headphone was finally ready. Creating an outstanding full-size dynamic driver headphone is a long and difficult road, full of unexpected obstacles, and one that few Chifi brands care to follow. MOONDROP's three goals of high performance, high efficiency and high restoration are fully reflected in this product. During the three years of development, we made countless modifications, abandoned dozens of architectures, accumulated valuable expertise in the development of dynamic driver full-size headphones, and moved steadily towards our goal.

We are proud to present our flagship full-size dynamic driver headphone VOID, the embodiment of the unstinting efforts of our R&D team over the past three years. The budget price tag was made possible by the use of a complete set of proprietary injection molds in the manufacture of structural parts.

Dynamic Driver Flagship Performance

Self-Developed 50mm High-performance Dynamic Driver

The dynamic driver is the core component of dynamic driver headphones, and its performance and response characteristics determine the upper limit of overall sound quality performance. VOID is equipped with a self-developed 50mm dynamic driver, which achieves the performance of a flagship large dynamic driver through fine design adjustment of each component.

High-Efficiency Internal Magnetic Dynamic Driver

The magnetic circuit adopted by the VOID dynamic driver is an optimized high-efficiency internal magnetic circuit.

For our 50mm dynamic driver, we tried various types of magnetic circuit structures, such as internal magnetic, external magnetic and composite magnetic, and finally chose the internal magnetic circuit in order to balance the vibration area of each part of the diaphragm. With the help of FEA finite element simulation to optimize the geometric structure of the magnetic circuit, our internal magnetic design has a magnetic flux density at the magnetic gap exceeding 1T, giving VOID exceptionally high efficiency for its size, and the ability to faithfully reproduce dynamics and details.

Combination of Flexible Suspension and Metal-coated Dome Diaphragm

Because of the behavior of sound wave amplitude and wavelength in a solid, the effect of the diaphragm on the performance of dynamic driver headphones is more pronounced than that of in-ear earphones. VOID combines a flexible suspension with a metal-coated dome diaphragm, delivering better high-frequency extension, superb dynamics and textures of middle and low frequencies, as well as a smooth frequency response.

Excellent Index Based on HRTF's Target Response

As a result of our constant efforts, VOID stands out among flagship dynamic driver headphones by virtue of its excellent performance index. It not only matches the Target Response based on HRTF, but also has excellent large-amplitude nonlinear distortion performance, and does full justice to the original music on the objective level.

Complete Set of Proprietary Molds

High Standard Professional Manufacturing

The entire structure of VOID, MOONDROP's first full-size headphone, has been tested and verified by repeated experiments, and its parts are manufactured using a complete set of proprietary molds. It is assembled and manufactured in our own factory in the western suburbs of Chengdu with high index requirements far greater than the general standards of the audio industry, breaking away from the constraints of the existing headphone industry chain.
