Listening Review

The iDSD Valkyrie delivers an exceptionally smooth and distortion-free sound, even at high volumes. The combination of high-resolution playback, customizable sound modes, and powerful amplification ensures that it can drive even the most demanding headphones with ease.

Testing the Valkyrie with high-end headphones like the Abyss JOAL and Dan Clark E3, it proved powerful enough to rival desktop amplifiers. I liked using the Final D8000 DC Pro with the Valkyrie as well, as the sound signature was nicely complimented by the power provided by the amp. 

• The JOAL’s immersive soundstage is further enriched with XPresence mode, adding a heightened sense of depth.
• The E3’s deep bass is intensified with XBass II, unlocking full-bodied low-end power without muddying the mids or highs.

Overall, the Valkyrie excels in preserving the natural tonality of headphones while allowing for subtle enhancements through its digital and analog tuning options.
