Sennheiser has had a lot of success with their Momentum series headphones and earphones. They’re known as much for their high-fidelity as well as stylish look. Recently Sennheiser decided to rename this popular model the HD 1 for both earphones and headphones. The latest generation of the newly named Momentum Series is already hitting shelves and we had the change to give the new Sennheiser HD 1 In-Ear a listen to see if it still has the sound quality Momentum users are accustomed to.
Unboxing the HD 1 In-Ear it looks basically the same as the previous model. The iconic shaped earbuds with the Sennheiser logo shining in glossy silver on the backs along with the durable ribbon style wire designed to have less tangles. The fit of the HD 1 In-Ear is as expected. Nothing seems to have changed in the overall body style of the earbuds and they fit comfortably in the ear and get a considerable amount of passive noise cancelling once seated. The ergonomic 15 degree angle has a lot to do with the fact that these earbuds are so comfortable. They sit just right. The 3-button controls are the perfect size and easy to reach. HD 1 In-Ear models come with controls for either Apple iPhones or Android devices.
The sound of the HD 1 In-Ear is incredible as expected. The 15 Hz – 20 kHz frequency range really shines when you play your favorite tunes. Everything from the clarity of hi-hats, guitars and vocals are opened up with breathtaking results. The bass frequencies of electronic and rock music is punchy and fun. The HD 1 In-Ear Momentum earphone is without a doubt a high-definition earphone begging to be pushed to the limits of portable in-ear listening.
Truly not a lot has changed with the HD 1 In-Ear Momentum earbud. But it’s no less great either. Sennheiser has kept this hot selling earphone basically the same because why mess with a good thing? Some things just don’t need tweaks or improvements and current Momentum In-Ear owners know this very well.
The HD 1 In-Ear comes in Black or Red, has a sturdy carrying case for travel and 4 different size eartips for the perfect in-ear fit. The HD 1 is undoubtedly one of the best earphones you can buy for under $100. See our entire collection in the Audio46 Sennheiser Store.
