Look and Feel
The design of the Sennheiser Momentum Sport earbuds is exceptionally comfortable, making them a joy to wear for extended periods. In fact, they're the smallest earbuds I've ever tried, and I'm particularly enamored with the stylish black matte color option. Their snug fit ensures you won't have to worry about them falling out during activities. As for the case, it's a significant improvement over the Momentum 4, boasting a square shape and lightweight yet classy black matte finish.
Design and Functionality
Sennheiser's Momentum Sport boasts a revamped 10mm transducer, promising vibrant sound and deep bass to fuel your workouts. Combatting ear pressure and distractions, an innovative acoustic relief channel minimizes breathing and footstep noise. Whether you prefer to stay tuned into your surroundings or fully immersed, the semi-open design offers flexibility with transparency mode. Additionally, features like active noise cancellation and anti-wind mode optimize focus during outdoor activities. Engineered for durability, the earbuds hold an IP55 rating for moisture and dust resistance, while the charging case, with wireless charging capability, boasts an IP54 rating.
Adaptive ANC
Despite its semi-open design, the Momentum Sport earbuds feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) for effective sound cancellation. You can easily control the ANC functionality within the app, and I've found it to work exceptionally well, ensuring an immersive and focused listening experience.
APP: Heart rate and body temperature tracking
Impressed with every aspect, the Sennheiser Momentum Sport app has left a lasting impression on me as I've tested out these earbuds. Seamlessly combining top-notch sound with advanced tracking features, it's truly remarkable. Its recent integration with Polar, my go-to fitness app, has only added to its appeal, allowing for effortless syncing with my Polar fitness tracker. Monitoring my heart rate and body temperature while enjoying my music has been seamless and insightful, offering valuable data for optimizing workouts. Powered by Polar technology and rigorously tested for accuracy, the app provides invaluable insights, keeping me engaged and motivated throughout.
Battery
The Sennheiser Momentum Sport offers up to six hours of battery life, with three extra charges provided by the case, and a quick 10-minute charge provides 45 minutes of use.
Bluetooth
The Sennheiser Momentum Sport, featuring Bluetooth 5.2, ensures seamless connectivity for hassle-free pairing.
Soundstage
The Sennheiser Momentum Sport comes close to the sound quality of the Momentum 4, offering a balanced soundstage with clear and vibrant tones. Despite the focus on bass for workouts, the earbuds maintain a pleasing balance, providing rich low-end without overshadowing other elements. Across different music genres, I found the sound quality consistently impressive. Additionally, the EQ adjustments in the app allowed me to customize the sound to my preferences easily.
Low End
I absolutely love the bass on the Sennheiser Momentum Sport; it's deep and impactful without drowning out the mids or highs. Even during my run, the bass remained punchy and satisfying, adding an extra layer of motivation to my workout without compromising clarity. Overall, the low-end response of these earbuds truly enhances the listening experience, especially for those who appreciate a strong bass presence.
Mids
The midrange performance of the Sennheiser Momentum Sport is truly noteworthy, showcasing clarity, warmth, and a pleasing sense of detail. In particular, when I played "Waves" by Thinking About You, the vocals and instruments were rendered with exceptional clarity and precision, creating a captivating listening experience.
Highs
The highs on the Sennheiser Momentum Sport sound exceptional, delivering clarity and precision that truly impress. When listening, the highs feel immersive, with a vivid sense of directionality that makes it seem like they're coming from behind or above. Notably, the separation between the highs, mids, and bass is excellent, eliminating the need for any additional boosting in the EQ, which is a rarity for me.
Summary
I'm truly impressed with the Sennheiser Momentum Sport earbuds, particularly for their seamless integration of heart rate and body temperature monitoring while maintaining exceptional audio quality. Despite their powerful bass, the mids and highs remain top-notch, resulting in a perfectly balanced sound profile. Moreover, their comfortable and lightweight design enhances their appeal, making them a worthwhile investment. Personally, given my active lifestyle, I'd opt for these over the Momentum 4 without hesitation.
