Featuring a fully-tubeless design, the breakthrough patent-pending tia™ system consists of the tia single-bore, tia acoustic chambers, and the proprietary open balanced armature tia drivers. The Frequency eXtension Chamber allows for superior mid-range control on a back-vented dynamic driver and paves the way for perfectly placed mid frequencies, giving vocals and instruments a remarkably natural sound. The sub bass and mid bass is close to sony ier-zir with a touch less slam. I would say audiophile quality and bass head approved. Mids and vocals are more forward than zir but not to much. Treble is as detailed as zir but cymbals are slightly back from air. You will see on Crinnacle’s frequency response a slight dip in upper mids. The treble details are all there just some are a little back from the zir. This is a personal preference, the zir is more forward the trio is equally detailed but a little less forward. This is all a very picky/personal opinion. You would not be disappointed and the price is worth it.
Never thought something so small could sound so amazing!
I started looking into buying my first pair of IEMs after purchasing the Fiio M11. Frankly, I didn't know that "earbuds" of this quality existed on this planet. Now let me give you some background. I tend to filter "price high to low." I believe that you get what you pay for. So I was looking at IEMs $1500 or more. I worked with the Audio 46 staff (who are excellent by the way) over the phone to help decide on and IEM. I did spend a great deal of time contemplating spending $3600 on the Fourte which I'm sure are amazing. The reality is that I simply didn't have that budget at this time. So back to the Trio. They are stunning! I don't see how IEMs can get any better. The music is crisp and full and vibrant. It's hard for me to even realize I'm not using high end open back headphones. And they even come with a hard case with cleaning tools. Highly recommended. You won't be sorry!
