The light and shadow identity of the world's number one portable Hi-Fi brand Astell&Kern has been incorporated into the ACRO BE100.

Specifically, the speaker is equipped with a 32-bit Hi-Fi digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to satisfy any audiophile and music enthusiast. It has a custom made woofer and tweeter, as well as a compact Class-D AMP that controls each frequency range independently, meaning it provides a superior level of sound quality compared to other common Bluetooth speakers.

Story of Light, Shadow, and Edge

Metal, wood and premium PU leather are assembled seamlessly, the materials and colors are combined beautifully to create the identity of light and shadow, the symbol of Astell&Kern.

The body, emphasizes durability and sets it apart as a beautiful object, giving it a strong presence in any space. The edge of the speaker's grille mesh, which attracts the user's attention the most, is designed to symbolize Astell&Kern's identity, adding a formative characteristic to the box-shaped speaker.

The front edge grille which meets at one point, is very asymmetrical with a basic triangle shape, but Astell&Kern's unique sense of balance is applied to the design to give it a heavy and stable look through the creation of areas of different sizes where light is reflected or shadow lies. The interplay of light and shadow changes depending on the viewing angle and the location of the speaker, allowing you to visually appreciate Astell&Kern's unique design. The ACRO BE100 speaker will complete the design of your living and working space based on our philosophy of delivering original audio experiences without compromise.

The form factor and volume knob on top, which are our core design elements, are made of aluminum with a knurling pattern applied, highlighting the beauty and refinement of the material as well as allowing accurate fine tuning of the volume, level by level, with a gentle touch. The area below the volume control illuminates and acts as an indicator, flashing different colors for each mode or volume level, helping users to easily identify the speaker status and control it intuitively.

Because we can't listen to music as a digital signal, digital music needs to be converted to analog signals before playback can be realized. To do this, we must use a digital-to-analog converter (DAC). However, most Bluetooth speakers do not come with a dedicated DAC, and only use the one embedded in the Bluetooth chip. As a result, there is a limit to how good the sound quality can be.

The BE100, on the other hand, uses a 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC, which is the part that converts digital signals to analog signals, along with a separate circuit to provide real high-quality Hi-Fi sound that is incomparable with other common Bluetooth speakers. Based on the technology and expertise we have developed with our portable Hi-Fi products, which are loved by audiophiles around the world, the BE100 provides a different level of real Hi-Fi sound without missing the authentic details of analog sound.

The two silk dome tweeters produce crystal clear Treble. We've worked tirelessly to find the ideal location for the woofer and tweeters to deliver stereo sound rather than mono sound, meaning the BE100 produces authentic stereo sound.

Astell&Kern’s Unrivalled Hi-Fi Audio Design Technology

If speaker AMPs are not designed properly, they can produce clipping sounds at maximum output. We applied our own AMP design technology to the BE100 to produce a different level of real Hi-Fi sound without distortion while comfortably reaching the maximum output power of the speaker.

It creates a clear sound while preventing the mixing of different frequency ranges by using a Digital Crossover. In addition, dynamic range control (DRC) is used to protect the speaker unit at its maximum output power.

Furthermore, to minimize Jitter—the undesired deviation in time from the transmitted signal—the Bluetooth chipset is equipped with a 50 ps clock and DAC to produce incredibly accurate sound.

The BE100 is the result of Astell&Kern's advances in sound technology that have evolved over decades. The Hi-Fi Class-D AMP guarantees consistent sound quality even at maximum volume and delivers crystal clear sound close to the original sound the artist and producer intended.

Sound tuning was applied taking into consideration the characteristics of the two connectivity modes available on the BE100: Bluetooth and AUX. Since each mode uses a different frequency range, we were able to optimize how the sound is tuned, using various factors such as reverb, internal resonance, etc.

Most importantly, based on Astell&Kern's long-standing philosophy of delivering the original sound, the BE100 divides the vocals and instrumentation naturally to produce the maximum level of real Hi-Fi sound regardless of what kind of music you are listening to and in what mode.
