All of the improvement in measurements of the DC06 comes from our extensive investment in research and development and higher part costs. Sound quality and performance are of the highest priorities. Even though DC06 is a price-friendly product, we have not compromised. We have adopted the dual DAC architecture to achieve a higher output power and a lower noise floor.
The ES9219C is a new generation of DAC manufactured by ESS, which has an excellent ratio of power consumption to excellent sound performance. The dual ES9219C architecture, design topology, and high parts quality have culminated with the outstanding performance of the DC06.
A Turbo Boost AMP Section Utilizes A Dedicated Power Supply Synchronous DC-DC Converter, Low Noise Charge Pump, & LDO
The DC06 utilizes synchronous DC-DC converter, low noise charge pump, and LDO to build an independent power supply for the AMP section. This allows the AMP section to work to its full potential, significantly boosting the output power.

NDK Femtosecond Oscillator
The DC06 is equipped with an NDK femtosecond oscillator, which we have pioneered in dongles. The NDK femtosecond oscillator can effectively reduce phase noise and provide a more accurate clock reference for the DAC.
MQA 16x Hardware MQA Rendering
MQA folds a high-resolution file to make it small enough to stream. With Tidal, and other supporting MQA playback software, the DC06 supports MQA 16X unfolding (2X is unfolded by software and 8X is hardware rendering by the DAC). With the MQA certificated software and MQA files, you can enjoy MQA audio playback with ease utilizing plug and play.

The DC06 has a detachable cable design. Changing to terminal between USB C and lightning is now possible. It also has both 3.5mm single ended output and 4.4mm balanced output to serve your needs.
Furthermore, the DC06 adopts a standard UAC2.0 USB receiver. It is compatible with most Android smartphones and tablets, and can be plug-and-play on Mac, Win 10, Win11 computers. For WinXP, Win7, and Win8 systems, please download the driver from iBasso. Once properly installed, it can be used as a USB sound card.

With A Dedicated APP, The DC06 Achieves 64-step Hardware Volume
Windows 10 and Android 5.0 and above support the UAC2.0 protocol by default. However, for compatibility reasons, Android Smartphone manufacturers still use SRC on audio output. When DC06 is connected, the maximum volume is achieved by default, the software algorithm of the device is used to reduce the volume. The software algorithm can reduce the volume but cannot reduce the noise floor. Therefore, iBasso developed a UAC2.0 volume controller App to achieve 64-step hardware volume control, effectively reducing the noise floor while achieving superior audio performance.
Operation Instructions:
The DC06 can be plug-and-play on Android Smartphones and tablets with Android 5.1 and above without installing drivers or third-party APPs (due to the Android device's system or hardware limitation, there may be a low compatibility issue with some smartphones or tablets.). On some Android devices, it may be necessary to manually turn on the OTG function in the system settings.
The DC06 uses a standard UAC 2.0 USB receiver chipset for plug-and-play on Mac and Win10 computers. For WinXP, Win7, and Win8 systems, please download the driver from iBasso. Once properly installed, it can be used as a USB sound card.
There is no built-in battery so the DC06 receives its power through the USB interface from the master device. The actual power consumption is related to the operation and the device system. Because DC06 has dual DAC chips, it is normal for the DC06 to get warm during use.

Sounds great
Wow sounds way better than the dongle for the iPhone full clean
Very nice dongle DAC for travel/portability
My old DC01 has a fixed USB C cable which was not reliably connecting to my phone so I needed a replacement. A replaceable cable became a priority in a replacement along with portability and the ability to fine tune the volume. I have desktop DACs and headphone amps and larger transportable units so while sound quality is important it was not a top priority. I view a dongle DAC as a means to great music anywhere and everywhere, but I don’t need it for serious audiophile geek-out sessions The iBasso DC06 offered relatively small size, removable cable, the iBasso UAC app for fine tuning volume and the bonus of balanced 4.4mm and single ended 3.5mm output so I could use nearly any headphones in my collection. The included cable snugly fits my phone (truth be told my phone’s jack is not the best and my old DC01 still works well in other devices). The DC06 is considerably larger than the tiny DC01 but thanks to the removable cable I feel it fits smaller spaces because I need not worry about sharply bending the built in cable. I can snugly fit the DC06 with cable into the new smaller Campfire Audio cases along with a pair of Onyx iems inserted into the dual bags and smokey litz cable (a very thin cable). The DC06 sounds great with deep bass and wonderfully musical detail resolution. It is not as detailed or powerful as my desktop units but I’m not asking it to be. When directly comparing it the DC01 I found it to be less hi-fi (I felt the DC01 overemphasized the highs) and more musically laid back. There were times I felt the DC06 offered up less bass (like on some Holly Cole tracks from the Temptation album) but that same bass had more attack and decay detail. Other times I felt the DC06 had deeper and more prominent bass but in all cases the experience was musical. So I stopped with the A/B comparisons and just enjoyed the music. The DC06 balanced output drives my Campfire Audio iBasso IT01 iems very well along with the Hifiman HE 4xx full sized headphones. The 3.5mm jack allowed me to use my old Sennheiser HD580s fairly well. For fun I plugged the power hungry AKG K240 sextettes in and was shocked to find it could drive these with more authority than I would have expected. I had to nearly max out the volume on the UAC app but still, these original K240s are a beast to drive. One caveat: the default setting is FULL VOLUME when the DC06 is plugged in (the DC01 operates the same way) so if an audio source is playing when you plug this in and you have phones plugged in you risk damaging the cans and your ears. I recommend plugging the DC06 in, opening UAC and adjusting volume to near minimum before opening a source of audio. The iBasso DC06 is not the most powerful and highest resolving DAC/amp out there, but I don’t expect that of a dongle DAC. It does offer great sound at the right size to pack with my iems for music anywhere and everywhere.

Great DAC/amp
This is a really nice DAC/amp delivering excellent sound. I have two others: the Dragonfly Black and Lotoo Paw 1. This is the best of the three at a very good price.; moreover, it comes with both type C and Lightning cables.
