The HD650 delivers a clear, natural, and vibrant sound with a velvety, and somewhat dark profile. The bass is robust and well-defined, lending an authentic touch to the low-end without being overly dominant. The mids exhibit a highly transparent and natural tonality, providing an immersive experience for acoustic genres. At the same time, vocals (especially female vocals) sit forward a bit, creating an intimate connection with the performer. And in general, you can expect a little more prominence in the upper mids. The treble feels smooth and perhaps a touch subdued, creating a laid back feel that makes the highest frequencies super-forgiving. And overall, the HD650’s fluid, emotive and almost gentle presentation translates into a deliciously sweet sonic experience.
