For lack of a better word, the Meze 99 Classics are…well, classics. Its sound signature is super easy to be enthralled by, especially in its price range. The soundstage is spacious and understandable, with warm mids and crisp vocal definition. I think these are a no-brainer for anyone that’s still okay with wearing wired headphones on the go.

WOOD TECHNOLOGY
The choice of wood is an inherently difficult one. The rich colors of walnut require the use of air drying, a long and expensive procedure. The process of shaping just a single pair of earcups takes up to 8 hours. The whole process of sanding, lacquering, and finishing lasts 45 days. The wooden components are carefully inspected and no flaws are permitted to reach the final assembly.
It is worth mentioning that all the wood that we use in our headphones is strictly harvested from sources with certificate of origin. That is, mature trees that have reached the end of their life cycle. This way, we are helping the environment and we're giving the old trees a chance to shine one more time in the shape of Meze headphones.

My 2nd Meze99. still good can.
I bought Meze 99 noir B4. 99 Noir was a good can but woodcup was not looks wood enough. Also i didn't have any other can back then, as one and only can/allrounder Meze99 was not for me at the time. Had to give up. Ever since i bought a lot! of headphone. Still kinda miss Meze99. so i bought 99 Classic again. Not the best, But still good can.
Worth the price!
It's been great over time. They're very comfortable and the sound is absolutely worth the price. They isolate decently (I can hear a TV but not people calling my name) and they have good detail. I would buy them again honestly
Very good worth a try.
Good, will have to try them balanced to really see what they are made of. A little uncomfortable. Cups aren’t as deep as I expected but all in all pretty fun cans.

These headphones look great, are very comfortable, and most importantly, sound wonderful. Currently listening to Tidal via iPhone/iPad through a Dragonfly Cobalt DAC, but awaiting Toppings DX3 Pro headphone amplifier/DAC that may improve experience further. An improvement over 20-yr-old Grado RS 80 phones. Only thing I have to compare them to.
