Large 100mm Diaphragm FDT (Full Drive Tech)
In contrast to traditional planar magnetic headphones, MOONDROP planar full-size headphones adopts an ultra-large 100mm-diameter diaphragm incorporating Full Drive Technology (FDT). It results in low-split vibration far superior to traditional planar magnetic headphones and comparable to that of electrostatics.
Traditional planar magnetic headphone diaphragm tracks Ineffective circuits exist in the vibration area, and only the central part of the diaphragm is driven, the effective drive area is about 56.3%. The resulting divided vibration causes blurring of treble details and distortion of timbre.
Full Drive Technology - The vibrating part of the diaphragm is placed in a uniform planar magnetic field, and effective drive circuits extend over the entire area of the vibrating surface, the effective drive area is about 95.5%. This exerts a uniform full-surface driving force comparable to that of electrostatic headphones, eliminating split vibrations and delivering a treble performance far superior to that of traditional planar magnetic headphones.
Low-diffraction Smooth Structural Surface Woven Metal Protective Grille
SKYLAND features a highly acclaimed acoustic transparency open-back design that significantly reduces reflections caused by external decorations, allowing for clearer mids and highs. The structural edge next to the diaphragm is smoothly transitioned with a low-diffraction matte surface to minimize high-frequency diffraction, resulting in a natural and transparent sound. To protect the diaphragm from damage during daily use, a metal protective grille is positioned at a considerable distance from the diaphragm.
This grille is constructed using round-surfaced metal wires arranged in a sparse weave, which maintains the open-back acoustic qualities while providing reliable protection without impeding sound transmission.
500nm Nanoscale Ultra-light and Ultra-thin Diaphragm
SKYLAND incorporates a brand-new, ultra-light and ultra-thin diaphragm with a thickness of about 500 nanometers.
