The Audio-Technica Difference
“Our engineers worked hard to achieve frequencies that are not easy to obtain with natural airflow. Our expertise in driver technology has influenced our approach to open-back headphones, enabling us to ensure the diaphragm moves with the purest motion. For example, with the ATH-ADX5000 we developed innovative technology that integrates the driver into the baffle, resulting in an optimal structure to improve airflow and full-range audio reproduction. This same technology is also employed in the ATH-ADX3000 headphones.”
— Hiromichi Ozawa, lead engineer for ADX headphones
Open-Back Innovation
The fully open-back design of the ATH-ADX3000 allows unrestricted airflow, which helps produce natural bass without artificial resonance while maintaining clarity in mid and high frequencies. This design, along with the proprietary Core Mount Technology, ensures optimal positioning of the driver unit to improve airflow and reduce unnecessary distortion.
Japanese Craftsmanship and Precision
Each pair of ATH-ADX3000 headphones is meticulously assembled in-house at our Machida, Tokyo facility, with driver units utilizing pure iron circuits for precise sound reproduction. The tungsten-coated diaphragm enhances the transient response, offering improved audio accuracy.
Realistic Soundstage
Thanks to the honeycomb-punched housing design, side ventilation is blocked to prevent undesirable air pressure loss. This results in an authentic soundstage and imaging, providing listeners with an immersive audio experience.
A Sound Connection
Since 2015, Audio-Technica has used the specially designed A2DC (Audio Designed Detachable Coaxial) connector on all of our in-ear headphones and select over-ear headphones with detachable cables. But why did we develop this connector and what makes it perform better than existing connectors in audio applications?
